Residential Program Associate: Institute on Religious Diversity and Democracy

Assist with providing hospitality, administration, and education support to a cohort of 20 international student leaders (from Egypt, Lebanon, Iraq, India, and Indonesia) participating in a 4-week summer program (June 21 to July 20) on religious diversity and democracy. Program associates will live in Temple University’s Morgan Hall with the students and accompany them to social and educational activities. A stipend of $4000 will be provided. View details HERE. Global Studies Intern

Offer program and research support for our State Department-funded institutes on religious diversity and democracy that serve students from the Middle East and South Asia. Tasks could include conducting research on country profiles and curriculum, gathering up-to-date information on global alumni, and providing support to program staff with sessions and activities. Positions are available for in-person support in the summers and online engagement during the school year. View the full description HERE. Stipends may be available.

Administrative Director - SUSI Program on Religious Diversity and Democracy

This is a professional position for high-level applicants to provide program, curriculum, and administrative oversight to a summer institute on religious diversity and democracy for 20 visiting international students. Mapping Spaces of Meaning Project

The Mapping Spaces of Meaning Project is sponsored by the Dialogue Institute and Temple University’s Office of Institutional Diversity, Equity, Advocacy, and Leadership (IDEAL). In this program, participants will work with other students to identify meaningful spaces on and near the Temple University campus that speak to diverse religious, ethnic, and cultural identities in our community and beyond.

Will I get paid? 

Individual universities, including Temple, may have paid internship programs and work-study opportunities. However, some positions may be volunteer.


Past Intern Spotlight

Peter Yingzhe He is a Temple University political science major (class of 2023). He was the recipient of a Summer Internship Stipend Award from Temple University’s Joyce K. Salzburg Center for Professional Development. During the summer of 2021, he worked with the Dialogue Institute to research past program participants to help us identify interests and opportunities for programs and collaborations across borders.

Andrew Douris was a Temple University history major (class of 2021). He was the recipient of a Summer Internship Stipend Award from Temple University’s Joyce K. Salzburg Center for Professional Development. During the summer of 2020, he worked with the Dialogue Institute to research curriculum content for our institute on religious pluralism in the United States, which attracted scholars from around the world.
